We chose this particular car because we
were looking for something that stands out.
And we think we got a heavenly body moving on
gold wings .. we mean wheels.  This car is from
the city of Cerritos in beautiful sunny Southern
California.  What more could you ask for than a
turbo wagon?

Owner Ferdie Quizon is still perfecting his ride
and is very picky about what he puts on his car.
And frankly we can't blame him.  At the young
age of 23, with school, girlfriend, and other bills,
it is tough to spare money on his car.  So
making sure he makes the right choice is key.

He started off in the right direction with wheels
from Iforged with their 18" Sprints
in gold wrapped in 215/35/R18 Toyo Tires
Proxys.  Tein Basic Coilovers in conjunction with
Racing Beat front strut bar and  rear sway bar
give him that aggressive stance and get him
around those annoying L.A. area potholes.
Ferdie Quizon's
2003 Mazda Protege 5
Quizon felt that he needed to make his P5 look a
bit flashier so he added a full Mint Blue body kit
and matching wing.  He went with FiberImages
to shed some pounds from the front end and
some dollars from his wallet for his CarbonFiber
hood.  Quizon felt more CF was in order so he
went ahead and purchased a DGM CF grill, DGM
CF mirror covers, DGM CF latch,DGM CF eyelids,
DGM CF A-pillars, and CF gas door.

With JDM items being all the rage, He decided to
somewhat convert his USDM protege into a JDM
"familia".  He installed JDM Protege headlights
and taillights. JDM "Familia" badges
and bumper guard, topping it off with
JDM Mazdaspeed badges.
Along with all this show, Ferdie felt he needed
some go.  He started with the basic boltons but
felt that he needed more power.  Being that the
aftermarket somewhat forgot about the
protege, he had to go the custom route to get
the power he needed.  Selling all his bolt-ons
and working part-time in a restaurant to get his
mod-money, he finally got his protege force-fed.

With the heart of his system revolving around a
Garrett T3 turbo.  With the air coming in
through a custom pipe and injen filter, through
the turbo, to his custom front mount
intercooler, and being expelled out a 2.5"
custom exhaust being finished with a HKS
Hi-power muffler.  Excess boost is vented into
the atmosphere via HKS SSQV to prevent turbo
damage between shifts.  All of this being
controlled by Microtech Engine Management
System.  He is currently running 7psi until he
builds the blocks to be safe.  Engine vitals are
delivered to the cockpit via Stewart Warner
gauges and an Innovate Air Fuel Gauge.

His future plans include a full bride interior,
retouch his suspension with a complete GT-Spec
Suspension kit and building his block to increase
the power of his little turbo wagon.
